A new and exciting singer/songwriter has appeared on the horizon to brighten and shed a new light on the reggae scene. His name is Anthony Gadd, a part of the Jahmessenjah family which features artists like Luciano and Mikey General.
Born in Brixton and growing up in Jamaica, Anthony attended Rollington Town Primary School and progressed onto St Georges College whilst residing in the Vineyard town area of Kingston. This was the background where as a youngster he started out by singing gospel songs at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on North Street. Other main influences included conscious reggae artists like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Jimmy Cliff. At an early age he also wrote thought-provoking poetry and as he got older and more into music this talent developed into song writing.
After returning to the UK he became involved in the music scene where he was associated with various sound systems, producers and artists. It was at this point that he also became attuned to jazz and R&B music, listening to artists such as Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Jarreau to name a few. This constant urge for growth earned him the privilege of working alongside international reggae artist, Luciano for a period of 7 years. During this period he has toured extensively all over Europe, particularly Belgium, Italy, France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland to name but a few. His longest tour to date was on a visit to the USA in 2001, a tour which lasted 7 weeks and covered 43 states. He has also toured South America, Africa and the Caribbean. During the course of these tours he has been personally involved in doing many radio and television interviews representing their organisation and the positive and uplifting music they produce. Along the way many hours were also spent in studios where he assisted in the production, writing and arranging of songs for major albums and singles. This gave him the opportunity to meet and work with some great talents all with different musical styles from all around the world. It was during this period in his life that Anthony Gadd decided to embark on a professional musical career, as these experiences most definitely assisted in improving and shaping his song writing skills and unique vocal style.
Now with the completion of his debut solo album ‘Life’s Journeys’, this singer-songwriter, is without any shadow of a doubt ‘moving onwards and upwards’. Anthony believes the first source of inspiration for this album is his faith but says anyone can relate to his music and its messages as they speak of the common every day experiences in life. It includes songs such as ‘Better Place’, ‘Busy’ and ‘Say a Prayer’ which are based on his own experiences and also some of the situations and people he has encountered.
This artist has created his own original sound which is a fusion of his vivid musical background, so listen and enjoy, the life journeys of Anthony Gadd.

Staff Notes
Singer/songwriter Anthony Gadd has taken "roots music" and given it wings. Blending reggae with jazz, r&b, funk, and more, he has created a sound that is bright, upbeat, and loaded with positive vibrations. It's wonderful music for chilling, cruising, or shaking it on the dance floor.

Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
