Bruce Antman, a 53 year old song writer and composer born in New York City, has made his living as a mediator for more than 27 years. After obtaining post graduate training in law, psychology, business and music, Bruce opened his mediation practice in 1977 and has since conducted more than 5,600 mediations.
He has been described as a visionary who has his head in the clouds and feet on the ground at the same time. He has a strong passion for his work, using his many talents to help children and families in the stressful struggle to navigate the seas of divorce. His aim is to help families not only stay afloat, but sail boldly into the sunset with renewed energy, insight and creativity.
One of Bruce’s favorite creative tools is the use of music as a means of empowerment, as shown in the two songs showcased here, “Mediation: A Way of Life”, and “Not Now”. He believes strongly in the power of music, especially in working with people who try to “think their way out of emotional crisis situations”. He states, “Music has a unique ability to reach people’s hearts. It can bypass the intellectual sensors that (especially intelligent and educated) people often use to block insight and wisdom that they are not ready to receive.”
Judges, attorneys, psychotherapists, mediators, ministers, music executives and other trained people in the helping professions have used Bruce’s songs. The songs are used to help clients and loved ones empower themselves to heal many of life’s most troubling and baffling challenges. Bruce is also seen as a master of the art of “reframe”, and as an alchemist, he is known to help people turn crisis into an opportunity to facilitate change. He is currently working on a series of songs, articles, courses and books to help people “MYLAWOA” (Making your life a work of art; copyright 2004).
In 1990, in response to the Persian Gulf War, Bruce founded the MANE Institute. MANE (Mediation, Arbitration, Negotiation, Education) is a 501 c(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to work with schools, churches, synagogues and international governments to promote peace, serenity and understanding through mediation and other conflict resolution methods. MANE has sponsored many presentations in schools throughout Southern California, and has also sponsored a presentation to the Committee to Improve the Effectiveness of the United Nations. All of the profits of the song “Mediation: A Way of Life” have been donated to supporting the work of MANE.
We hope you will enjoy these songs and that you can use them to help in your life and in your work. We also hope that they will help you empower people to make their lives and the lives of others happier, more productive and more solution-focused.

Staff Notes
Bruce Antman blends his songwriting ability and belief in the power of music
with his career as a mediator to create songs about the power of working
together. It's an interesting and unusual mix, but not too surprising as Bruce sees alchemy as an element of his work. - Michael Diamond, SongPeddler
Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
