Song Notes |
|
| Ian Dogole: "A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, witnessed the talents of numerous legendary athletes and sports personalities, including Julius Erving, Mike Schmidt, Richie Ashburn, Steve Carlton, Bernie Parent, Bobby Clarke, Howard Porter, Harry Kalas, Gene Hart, and Dave Zinkoff. However, one figure towers over the entire storied history of Philadelphia - Wilt Chamberlain. After his untimely death in 2000, I wanted to acknowledge 'the Big Dipper,' or as Dave Zinkoff used to deadpan over the Convention Hall PA system after another Chamberlain slam dunk… 'Dipper Dunk.'" |
