Notes
"Black Dragon" is the first in the Moongate series of audio CDs for Feng Shui and Tai Chi. It was recorded using digital samples of Asian instruments and the melodies are based on the ancient Confucian Pentatonic (or five note) scale representing the five Chinese elements of Fire, Water, Wood, Metal and Earth.
The ancient Chinese believed that the universe was made up of opposite pairs of elements called yin (cool, dark, water, feminine & yielding) and the yang (warm, light, fire, masculine & strong) and that when the yin and yang in the body, mind and spirit were in balance, the body would be healthy and surging with positive energy or chi, the life force of the universe. Conversely, if there was too much yin or too much yang, illness and disharmony would result and the energy or chi would stop flowing.
The Chinese physician heals illness by inserting thin needles into the places where the chi or energy has been blocked. Tai Chi and Qigong are exercises that are designed to keep the energy flowing and the yin and yang perfectly in balance through the use of movement, mental focus and meditation. Feng Shui is the art of balancing yin and yang in the home, business or personal environment through the use of baguas or eight sided mirrors, furniture placement, colors, plants and music.
The Yin & Yang energies of the universe are constantly shifting, so we need different types of Feng Shui music to balance different types of energy. “Black Dragon” music has more Yang energy than Yin and should be played to add more intensity & active energy to the personal environment.
”Meditations Along the Silk Road” has more Yin energy and should be played when there is a need to diffuse or subdue intense energy. “Dragon and Phoenix” is music with a balance of Yin and Yang and can be used daily to maintain Feng Shui balance in the home or place of business.

Instruments: digital samples of Oriental instruments including the koto, sheng and pipa. best for Feng Shui (yang or masculine energy), Tai Chi, relaxation.
Description: The ancient Confucian pentatonic scale of five notes... the five elements of Chinese Feng Shui: fire, wood, metal, water and earth...BLACK DRAGON uses digital samples from Oriental and Asian instruments and It blends keyboards with exotic Oriental scales and modes (and some Oriental percussion) to create a mysterious, mystical tapestry of music. The music is written for Western ears and is a perfect accompaniment for Oriental movement practices such as Tai Chi and Qigong as the meter is random and does not to interfere with the natural rhythm of a Tai Chi or Yoga workout. For Feng Shui, BLACK DRAGON has a lot more yang energy (strong, masculine) and adds more intensity and activity to your surroundings.
Reviews
"On her latest album, Wellington's musician, Marilynn Seits has created music for Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga. Melodies that are a good accompaniment to exercise that involves meditation or a relaxed mind. Like its name, "Black Dragon" has a sound that is Asian, although Seits has stylized the music to suit western ears..." - Palm Beach Post
"...Marilynn writes, "I specifically tried to use the ancient Confucian pentatonic (or five note) scale when writing this music to represent the five elements in Chinese Feng Shui: fire, wood, metal, water and earth." Whether used as background music to calm and relax your mind, or an adjunct to your Tai Chi or Yoga, you'll want to add this CD to your collection..." - New Age Visions
Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
