Born in Northern California and raised in Sonoma County, Maureen Davison has had a lifelong love of singing. For over 25 years she has been singing in choirs while going to school, working or raising her two children. Maureen refined her vocal talents with classical training while at UC Davis performing in the choir and the Chamber Ensemble and graduated with an enology degree and a minor in music. After graduating from UC Davis she entered the food business to pursue a career as a pastry chef. She graduated from the California Culinary Academy and spent the last 15 years as a pastry chef in Sonoma County. After all these years she finally decided to pursue a dream involving her first love: singing. Her debut recording unveils a warm, rich voice as she opens up her heart to share her personal insights.
Singing lullabies to her children over the years inspired her to create this anthology. Sometimes whimsical, always heartfelt, Maureen celebrates the special bond between parent and child.
Bless the Child is a compilation of familiar songs, traditional music, and original songs composed by Davison. Many are in a lullaby style. These songs speak of the love between parent and child; they are songs every parent's heart can understand.
They are also songs for the whole family. Children particularly enjoy "Goldilocks" for its upbeat humor and recognizable character.
"With newborns, the only time I got a chance to sing was when I was rocking them to sleep. Many lullabies make no sense or are rather violent (trees breaking, falling cradles) so I'd change the words or experiment. I chose melodies I liked and adapted the lyrics to children's ears. I also discovered that many Christmas carols are lullabies, so I sang them year round because they were soothing. "Lullay, Lullay" is an example."

Maureen has created some wonderfully fun children's music for your listening pleasure.
Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
