Murray is an honest, impassioned singer and songwriter with a distinctive vocal quality, reminiscent of the sounds of Michael Franks, James Taylor and Paul Simon. He began playing music at the age of 5, and is a gifted instrumentalist on electric and acoustic guitars, harmonica, mandolin, bass guitar, keyboards and percussion.
As well as having studied voice with the great Bobby McFerrin, Murray has served for several years on the faculty of "On Stage Music Camp". He has worked with many fine musicians, including David Grisman, Boz Skaggs, and Eddie Money, and has also shared the stage with Tower of Power and Joan Baez, Pete Escovido, Clarence Clemmons, George Benson, Patti LaBelle, and David Sanborn.
Murray was a powerful force in the award-winning a cappella quartet "About Face", which has been featured on national television (Natalie Cole's "Big Break") as well as several local television and radio shows. Along with providing entertainment for corporate and private events, the group has performed the National Anthem for audiences at the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, and Golden State Warriors games.
Murray's talents have been utilized on numerous television and radio ads, and his harmonica playing can be heard featured on Lyle Workman's new album "Lionheart".

Staff Notes
Murray Orrick is truly a multi-talented artist. His vocal style is smooth and
sweet, his songwriting is interesting and diverse, and he is an accomplished
musician as well.
Building from a base of jazz-inflected pop music, he incorporates elements of
latin, world music, r & b, soft rock, folk, and more. I was especially taken
with his moving and bittersweet song "Endless Sea", a fond remberance of a
friend who has passed away. Murray is definitely someone who deserves to be heard.
Music without words means leaving behind the mind. And leaving behind the mind is meditation.
Meditation returns you to the source. And the source of all is sound. — Kabir
