I once met a man
He said he was searching
Looking for a way
To get in touch with God
He tried a new religion
Left family and friends
And said it was his decision
With justifiable ends
He said
“I got to go
My spirit is calling
Telling me to come and walk on sacred ground
I’ve got to go
My spirit is falling
One day I’ll walk on sacred ground
One day I’ll walk on sacred ground
Then I’ll be walking…. Walking on scared ground.”

Then I met this woman
She seemed so nice at first
She studied world religion
But it left her with a thirst
She told me of her guru
How he’s selling her the goods
Always looking for something new
The girl’s lost in the woods
And she said

My spirit is falling”
And she said “One day I’ll walk on sacred ground”
She said “One day I’ll walk on sacred ground”
Then I’ll be walking…. Walking on scared ground.”

You know life’s funny
Things don’t go as you planned
And it’s really hard, I know
For us to all understand
But it’s really simple
This quest your spirit’s on
Just look around you.
Your search is over
